SOCIAL PERFORMANCE

we recognizse the importance of integrating social considerations into business operations to enhance sustainability, foster positive relationships with stakeholders, and mitigate risks. Our Social Performance Consulting Service is tailored to meet the unique needs of clients operating in Papua New Guinea, offering comprehensive solutions that encompass social impact assessments, cultural heritage management, and free, prior and informed consent (FPIC) strategy planning.

SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENTS

Our experienced team conducts thorough social impact assessments to identify, predict, and manage the potential social impacts of our clients' projects or operations. We employ a participatory approach, engaging with affected communities, local leaders, and other stakeholders to understand their concerns, aspirations, and priorities. Our assessments encompass a range of social factors, including livelihoods, health, education, cultural heritage, gender equality, and social cohesion.

CULTURAL HERITAGE MANAGEMENT

We assist clients in developing cultural heritage management plans that respect and preserve the cultural heritage of indigenous communities affected by their projects. Our consultants work closely with cultural heritage experts, traditional custodians, and relevant government agencies to identify culturally significant sites, artifacts, and practices. We support clients in implementing measures to avoid, minimize, or mitigate adverse impacts on cultural heritage, including through heritage assessments, monitoring, and community engagement.

Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC)

We provide guidance and support to clients in developing FPIC strategies that uphold the rights of local communities to participate in decision-making processes that affect their lands, territories, and resources. Our approach to FPIC planning is based on principles of transparency, inclusivity, and respect for communities. We assist clients in establishing robust FPIC processes that enable meaningful dialogue, ensure informed consent, and address concerns raised by affected Papua New Guineans.

SOCIAL PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (SPMS)

We help clients establish and enhance their Social Performance Management Systems to systematically manage social risks, opportunities, and impacts associated with their operations. Our team collaborates with clients to develop customised SPMS frameworks, policies, procedures, and tools aligned with international best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. We provide training, capacity building, and ongoing support to empower clients to effectively implement, monitor, and continuously improve their SPMS.
